Shania Twain popularized country music in a major way as she became an international superstar in the ’90s.  She was a rags to riches heroine who proved the dream really could come true no matter where you were from or what your real teeth looked like. “Any Man of Mine” from her 1995 album, The Woman in Me, has always been my personal favorite of hers, and I love that Chapter 20 of the book is cleverly titled “The Woman in Me Succeeds”. Those sassy women’s anthems really made her a star and in 1997 Come On Over, which featured “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” and “That Don’t Impress Me Much”, became the bestselling album of all time by a female musician and the bestselling country album of all time.

In From This Moment On, she shares her very personal story of how she rose from a lower station than any of us ever knew to the height of success and fame, then suffered the ultimate betrayal when her husband, producer Robert Lange, cheated on her with her best friend. In an interview this week with George Stroumboulopoulos, she said that this book was “not about entertainment. I’m an entertainer sharing my life.” What piqued our interest was that she said she also shares what she thinks are signs of betrayal and things to look out for.

One thing is for sure – girl’s got stories! She’s now got a new husband (the backstabbing friend’s ex-husband – can you believe it? Now, tell me you do not want to read this book!), a new show called Why Not? which debuted on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) on May 8th, and she’s working hard to get back to her music.

Click here or below to watch her interview on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight to find out why returning to music has been a challenge, what she says about revenge and what George says his favorite bad music to sing in the shower is, and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for a chance to win the book:
