Condé Nast on Apple’s Newsstand

Condé Nast is one of the world’s major publishers, and one of the first to jump on Apple’s new Newsstand bandwagon.

Newsstand is a new app that’s part of iOS5, in the same ilk as iBooks. If you were subscribing to magazines on your iPad, they’ll now all be nicely placed in Newsstand - downloaded and delivered as soon as they’re released, a new feature we’d been begging of Apple. According to them, it’s “your own personal reading room with the latest in whatever interests you.”

Nine of Condé Nast’s titles hit the virtual shelves today – Allure, Brides, Glamour, Golf Digest (wooo!), GQ, Self, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair and Wired – and they announced the arrival of Vogue, Bon Appetit and Condé Nast Traveler – coming by early 2012. Which isn’t that far away. How time flies…
