Louboutin Publishes Most Iconic Works

October 11, 2011 7:23 PM

Christian Louboutin is one of the world’s foremost shoe designers, with his luxurious creations worn by the likes of Kate Moss and Blake Lively and by Hilary Swank to, pardon me, swanky awards ceremonies.

From Paris originally, Louboutin opened his first stores there almost twenty years ago. He now has stores all over the world, including in the States, London, Moscow and Dubai. Now, he’ll open his first shoe store exclusively for men. In Paris, it stands opposite his first ever location at 17 rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau.

And not only that, Louboutin is launching his first book. It will include his most iconic work and talk of his influences – like Yves Saint Laurent – and give an insight into his personal collections. He told British Vogue:

“Rizzoli approached me to work on a book together and it happened to be perfect timing as my 20th anniversary was approaching. Without a doubt my favourite element is the photography of the shoes by Philippe Garcia. In researching the book, I was also obliged to revisit my own personal archive of photos and sketches and I was impressed at the amount that I had saved from those early days.”
