Work Wardrobe Must-Haves from the Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Collection

August 15, 2011 1:43 AM

If you still lament not snagging anything from the 2004 Karl Lagerfeld collection for H&M, this is your chance at redemption.

KL has created a 45-piece collection for Macy’s, which will be available August 31st, and is chock full of great tailored pieces for work that are totally “him” and range in price from only $50 – $70.

Of course, it’s one of the most anticipated collections of the season. So, how do you beat the rest of the plebs?

  • The collection will be sold online at Macys.com, which now also ships internationally.
  • You can send a proxy to wait in line for you – with the money you’ll be saving, you can afford to pay kid sis $20.
  • Search Craigslist or eBay the day the collection launches and in the days following. People buy tons of pieces specifically to turn a profit by re-selling them online, often for a reasonable markup.

Here are some of the pieces we’ll be going after. Check out all the photos of the collection at nymag.com.

No love, only like. That last ruched one is uninspired and rarely form flattering. Though I do love some of the tights suggested.
