In fashion, every season has its defining pieces – the ones that appear in every major fashion magazine editorial and a few great covers and are donned by so many celebrities, you can’t help but ask who wore it best. In Fall 2006 it was the gold armor-inspired dress from Versace’s Spring 2007 collection, seen here on Nicole Kidman on the cover of American Vogue.
This season it’s Stella McCartney’s dress of black polka dots embroidered onto ivory tulle, already worn on the red carpet by Kate Winslet, in Spanish Vogue by Katie Holmes, on the cover of Vogue Brazil by Gisele Bundchen and in an Australian Vogue fashion spread, to name just a few. (See them all below)
So who wore this curve-hugging knit dress with the see-through panel best?
73 year old Jane Fonda in the September 2011 issue of Harper’s Bazaar. That’s who.
She posed in the dress for her interview with the magazine, all in promotion of her new memoir, Prime Time. Looks like Barbarella’s still got it… and that it might be time to try some vintage Jane Fonda workouts.
