The competitive search for new cast members of Glee.
As some Glee characters get close to graduation, creator and Executive Producer Ryan Murphy keeps it real with a reality show that acts as a casting session/bootcamp for future members of the cast.
A nationwide search produced 40,000 hopefuls and 12 really talented finalists made the cut for the highly competitive, challenging and super entertaining Glee Project series. As is the case with the scripted Glee series, it’s not just about being the best singer or dancer or actor but about being an interesting person. Still, the contestants are rigorously tested in all those categories, making this the most fun show on TV right now.
We especially love that the competition is led by the actual casting director for Glee, Robert J. Ulrich, its vocalist, vocal arranger and songwriter, Nikki Anders, choreographer Zach Woodlee and, of course, Mr. Murphy himself.
