A Useful Notebook for Designers: Comment to WIN!

GridbooksAs a professional deep web diver, I often find myself in unfamiliar territory online. And usually, it leads to an amazing find. Today is no different. I just stumbled upon an amazing new tool for creative types. Whether the principles of grid-based design make you swoon or give you a headache, these handy notebooks are sure to make you smile. They’re called Gridbooks ($26), and they help storyboarders, designers, and advertising whizzes keep their designs and task lists unified.

Each page features a 15-point dot grid that divide perfectly into four, five, or six columns across its width. The books also include storyboard outlines for three commonly-used ad units: a leaderboard, skyscraper, and big box. Opposite the grid sits a pretty note page that includes lines for comments and a checklist for action items.

With every Gridbook comes a set of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator files to help you take your drawn work into digital territory. Simply scan, insert, and present!

If you weren’t already sold on them, Gridbooks are printed using 100% renewable energy, on high-quality, recycled paper from a craft printer in Calgary, ON. Plus, their sleek look won’t embarrass you when you drag one into your next meeting instead of an iPad.

Currently, just the Ad Book model is available, but keep an eye on this company, because they have plans to expand their line to include sketch books for web designers very soon.

Designers, you’re in love, right? You can thank Canadian duo Sajak and Farki for creating the product. They were kind enough to give us one to give away to one lucky reader. Comment below for your chance to WIN!
